  22. I agree with you. On the other hand, I would very much like to see an Amiga
  23. version of Java. I know there's a port underway, but I don't know how far
  24. it is. I see Java as more than just a language that can be used to make
  25. HTML pages more interactive. It can be a general purpose language, with the
  26. great advantage that it is platform independent.

  28. With the development of Java-on-a-chip like solutions, the speed of the
  29. whole system will increase considerably too (speed is a problem at the
  30. moment).

  32. It's very interesting to see how much money Sun is spending on Java. I've
  33. been to a seminar organized by Sun this week. They had all kinds of
  34. speakers that use Java and are developing new, interesting applications
  35. with it. This whole day was free and you were handed all kinds of goodies.

  37. The battle for the net is underway, with Netscape and Microsoft giving away
  38. their browsers for free too. It will be very interesting to see who comes
  39. out on top.
